Care Philosophy 
To provide a full evaluation, accurate diagnoses, and individualized therapy while carefully protecting your privacy. He uses no involuntary or electroshock treatment. The over 1,100 member Florida Psychiatric Society named Dr. Miley "Private Practitioner of the Year 2000" and President 2004-2005.

Specialties
In solo practice in Florida since 1973, Dr. Miley treats patients of all ages with individual, couple or family therapy and with medication when required. He treats depression, anxiety, sleep, eating, ADHD, obsessive-compulsive, PTSD and bereavement disorders among others.

Insurance 
Fee for Service for all patients except those referred from PsychCare. As a courtesy we complete and file all claim forms on the same day of service. New Medicare patients accepted, but not patients with Medicaid or Workers' Compensation.

To take a confidential depression screening test on-line, click on the National Mental Health Assn. (NMHA)link at the bottom of this page. Other Patient Support links include NAMI, the DBSA and the National Foundation for Depressive Illness.

The Florida Psychiatric Society has over 1,100 members and you may visit their website listed under "Other Resource Web Links" on this page. Dr. Miley served as President of the FPS 2004-2005, and Co-Chaired the Disaster Preparedness Committee. For licensure renewal Florida law requires all M.D. and D.O. physicians to obtain at least 40 hours of Category 1 Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits every two years. Dr. Miley attends well over 60 hours of Category 1 CME per year. After 9/11/01 he reactivated and trained Marion County's all-volunteer Community Crisis Response Team.
